General Summary: Entry-level position which assists with the day-to-day administrative/clerical activities for the Benefits and Compensation functions within Human Resources.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing of benefit forms and other related information.
  • Maintain records related to plan eligibility, participation, claims or status changes.
  • Prepare and communicate information to employees and former employees about benefit programs.
  • Responsible for transferring employee premium payments to benefit providers.
  • Provide high level of customer service to employees and their covered dependents.
  • Answer basic questions related to various benefit plans, which may include: Group health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and other various voluntary benefit plans, FSA, 401k retirement plans, and Employee Stock Purchase Plans.
  • Moderate to Working Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations affecting human resources and/or employee benefits programs.
  • Other assigned duties and special projects.


Requirements (knowledge, skills & abilities):

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of administrative / clerical experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle privileged information in a professional manner.
  • Efficient and detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability
  • Effective communication skills to include oral, written, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with associates at all levels.
  • Willingness to take initiative and continually look for ways to improve processes.
  • Must be able to convey a professional image.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish a plus.
