General Summary:  The eCommerce Content Specialist will partner with cross-functional teams to write compelling, creative product descriptions. The eCommerce Content Specialist will also develop and create product categories, manage quality assurance, vendor relations, and problem resolution.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works independently to create and publish compelling, creative, SEO enhanced, and targeted product descriptions.
  • Manages the daily distribution of product samples to prepare all product for sale on
  • Researches product technology, fashion trends, competitor websites, etc. to create accurate product features and specifications (material types, technical specifications, style notes, etc.).
  • Develops product categories to support accurate site navigation, and helps to maintain them in conjunction with the eCommerce On-Site Merchandiser.
  • Responsible for quality assurance for all stock keeping units (skus) on, including accurate photography, categorization, description, and product name.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with merchandising and vendor partners to resolve asset discrepancies or sample acquisition issues.
  • Partners with the eCommerce Photographer to resolve product photography errors.
  • Acts as the liaison between merchandising and customer service to resolve issues related to the presentation of products online.  
  • Responsible for reporting and achieving inventory specific key performance indicators (KPIs) for the online business.
  • Maintains product knowledge of historical, current, and future merchandise assortments.


Requirements (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional creative writing and editing skills, along with strong oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to meet daily deadlines.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an aptitude for critical thinking.
  • Strong follow up and follow through to ensure all tasks are fully completed.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and proven ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.
