General Summary:  Ensures the delivery of large-scale technology and non-technology projects by:

  • Interfacing with business functions to analyze and document their business operations, business processes, functional requirements and on-going support needs.
  • Providing rigorous and detailed project management experience and ensuring on-time and high quality delivery.
  • Performing project tasks and responsibilities ranging from analysis, process mapping, systems requirements, testing & QA, training and support as required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Act as a liason between the IT Department, outside vendors and the various functional areas of the company.
  • Support the initiation and management of new initiatives prioritized by the company. This includes developing project charter, developing necessary project templates, generating weekly project updates and creating workplans and dashboards.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and business owner interviews to collect information required for documenting current business processes and practices.
  • Own the business relationship with at least one key functional area within the company by prioritizing all requests; preparing business impact analyses, ROI analyses and recommendations.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements for the IT development and technical services groups by authoring functional specification documents.
  • Translate business data dependencies between systems into integration requirements and mapping documents.
  • Partner with internal IT development, IT technical services and outside vendors on methodology and approach on all deliverables.
  • Create test plans to guide the QA process and assist with hands-on testing as needed.
  • Establish and maintain the project issues tracking system and provide necessary updates on issue resolution and escalate priority and/or unresolved issues to authority per defined escalation procedures.
  • Establish and maintain project plans and project status updates and manage critical project milestones.
  • Perform diagnostics & troubleshooting to resolve issues. Issues include but are not limited to software, application and business processes, training and hardware.
  • Works to ensure all business intelligence needs are pursued and completed per established priorities.
  • Maintain an appropriate skill set and industry awareness of tools, technologies and methodologies.
  • Deliver or contribute to end-user training, education and documentation as required.

Requirements (knowledge, skills & abilities):


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or other related field.
  • 5-8 years of detailed project management experience.
  • Retail and/or Consulting firm experience especially in the areas of merchandising, supply chain, store operations, finance or digital.
  • Software configuration and package deployment in areas of Merchandising, POS, Supply Chain, Financial suite, CRM, etc.
