Title:                            Training and Communication Specialist

General Summary: 
Enthusiastic, creative and innovative individual responsible for developing and presenting content for training courses. Format is primarily written materials including online user guides, weekly communication to store locations, and project directions; other formats include eLearning, virtual and classroom training. Makes recommendations and influences key learning and development programs.   

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write and develop weekly corporate communication platform.
  • Write project directions for field locations in a precise and clear manner.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to research, build, implement and update all training materials.
  • Assist in the organization, facilitation and continuous improvement of all learning formats.
  • Knowledge and understanding of learning/training methodology to continually evolve learning content.
  • Creative use of development tools/technology such as Adobe Captivate, InDesign and Adobe Connect, etc., to independently create imaginative and original educational materials.
  • Responsible for developing courses that clearly specify learning objectives and use appropriate delivery mechanisms and media to ensure end-user comprehension.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring attention to detail on all department projects.
  • Administrative and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Requirements (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2-5 years of experience in learning and development or related field.
  • Exceptional written and editing skills, including the ability to shape corporate messaging.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize complex projects into direct, clear instructions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and formats including web-based training development.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and preparation procedures.
  • Experience providing both instructor-led and virtual training delivery.
  • Business collaboration with many cross-functional teams in the development of training content.
  • Team player and motivated self-starter comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with compressed timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Photoshop, InDesign and/or other similar publishing software.
  • A minimum of 10% travel may be expected.
