Job Summary: The Training Manager identifies organizational training and development with a focus on creating, maintaining, and delivering training materials to meet all business needs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Planning

  • Collaborates with associates at all levels and departments on training needs and opportunities for the expansion of talent development.
  • Analyzes data and recommends solutions to deliver, track, and measure training and performance to meet organizational objectives.
  • Serves as a system administrator to the Learning Management System (LMS) enabling efficient use, reporting, and tracking for the Field, Distribution Center, and Corporate Office.
  • Ensures training processes and procedures are aligned with communication materials, policies, and courses.
  • Production editor of the weekly corporate communication, InfoLink, published to the entire company. Uses innovative approaches to increase associate desire to read and stay informed.
  • Provides assistance and support via phone for local and remote training sessions.
  • Communicates and oversees vendors, as needed for phone and conference lines, Leadership Seminar arrangements, and training related printing needs.
  • Creates and executes all training implementation plans and reports while maintaining project priorities and timelines.
  • Participates in testing environments to analyze and identify opportunities to create efficiencies, intuitiveness, and ease of functionality for the end-user in all processes.
  • Supervises all Training department associates.

Instructional Design

  • Manages the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions.
  • Identifies, researches, develops, and implements training materials addressing processes and procedures with a clear vision and understanding of various end-user needs and comprehension levels.
  • Utilizes instructional design theories, practices, and methodologies to design new or redevelop existing courses and instructional materials.
  • Integrates creative techniques to engage learners. Designs interactive simulations, branching scenarios, and other methods to ensure retention.
  • Creates videos, audio, and other multimedia and learning interactions, to include script writing and voiceovers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field and/or at least 5 years’ of commensurate experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required..
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro or other development software preferred.
  • Experience with multimedia authoring tools like Articulate, Camtasia, and video/audio software tools preferred.
  • Excellent grasp of grammar, spelling, and formatting with the highest level of detail.
  • Experience with story boarding, technical writing, and creative writing preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to analyze, identify, and understand critical issues and information to make informed business and training decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintaining multiple projects on an on-going basis with shifting priorities. Must be able to easily embrace and manage change.
  • Confidence in public speaking to large groups and all levels of management.
  • Excellent problem solving, forward thinking, active listening, and planning abilities.
