Enjoy working on-site at Shoe Carnival's Corporate Headquarters in Evansville, Indiana! Summer internship opportunity May 2021 through July 2021.

The Buying Intern learns responsibilities of all Buying functions and performs work based on direction from the Buyer. Upon completion of the internship, the Buying Intern has a working knowledge of each position and a full understanding of what a career in Buying at Shoe Carnival entails.

• Creates and maintains merchandise analysis reports in Excel.
• Creates or reproduces reports, forms, correspondence, and other materials as needed by the Buyer.
• Learns how to manage the sample room and tags all samples when they are bought.
• Understands the confirmation sample process and learns to prepare and create purchase orders.
• Works with Merchandisers, Planners, and DMM Assistant to understand their roles within the Buying Department.
• With the direction of the Buyer, completes an in-depth project and presents analysis of findings to all Buyers.

Requirements:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree with at least one year completed.
• Strong computer skills including a proven ability to create and maintain complex analysis reports and a proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and build collaborative relationships.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors at every level.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
