This position works at Shoe Carnival's Corporate office located at 7500 E Columbia Street, Evansville, Indiana Monday through Thursday and can work from home on Friday as long as you plan your work for the day!

Starting salary: $50,000. Commensurate with experience.

The Inventory Control Accountant is responsible for all aspects of inventory control for the field and warehouse including physical inventory reconciliation, journal entries, store support, and investigating and correcting errors.

• Records inventory adjustments in accounting subledger as needed.
• Assists in scheduling store and warehouse physical inventories.
• Processes and reports accounting results for store physical counts throughout the year.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and reconciles general ledger inventory accounts.
• Investigates and processes inventory adjustments.
• Monitors and investigates the processing of inter-store transfers and provides periodic reports.
• Participates in preparation of necessary schedules and provides assistance to third party auditors, as applicable.
• Assists in the development, documentation, revision and implementation of inventory control procedures, and audit programs.
• Completes ad hoc Accounting Department projects as requested by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or related field.
• Experience working within an accounting department a plus.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and experience working in MS-Office and Windows based
• Self-motivated, works well independently and in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, remain flexible as business needs change and adhere to tight deadlines.
