Payroll Analyst

Enjoy working on-site at Shoe Carnival's corporate office located in Evansville, Indiana with our Human Resources/ Benefits Team. This position will report to the corporate office on Monday through Thursday and work remotely on Friday from home.

 

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for reconciling payroll related expenses between the Human Resources/Payroll Department and the Accounting Department.

· Compiles data from multiple data sources to create standard and adhoc reporting that allows for the analysis of payroll and the related tax expenses for each department and location across the company. Serves as the primary point of contact for all related inquiries.

· Performs analysis of bi-weekly payroll and tax withholding data and reviews third-party filings to ensure accuracy.

· Compiles weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll expenses and posts to accounting management software, and reviews general ledger accounts for accuracy.

· Processes quarterly and annual incentive calculations.

· Reconciles relocation expenses by individual and prepares necessary gross-ups of income taxes and IRS required relocation reports.

· Assists with HR/Payroll Department budgets.

· Communicates with Third Party payroll provider as needed.

· Serves as backup for the Payroll Manager and Payroll Coordinators as needed.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field and/or at least 2+ years of commensurate experience required.

· Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations and multi-state payroll processing a plus.

· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and ADP a plus.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel experience required.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, maintaining multiple projects on an on-going basis with shifting priorities. Must be able to easily embrace and manage change.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and convey a positive professional image.
