Talent Acquisition Specialist-Distribution Center

The Talent Acquisition Specialist sources, recruits, screens and interviews candidates to fill open positions in a distribution center. Builds and maintains a contingent workforce of part-time, temporary employees to fill in during peak periods. Assists with orientation and onboarding activities for all new hires and temporary employees. Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the training and development function.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consults with hiring managers to understand roles to be filled and profiles of ideal candidates for current and future openings.
  • Develops a pool of qualified and diverse candidates through multi-media marketing, participation in career fairs and hiring events, community involvement and networking with professional associations.
  • Reviews and assesses applicants education, experience, training, and other qualifications.
  • Verifies employment eligibility, gathers necessary paperwork, and performs reference and background checks.
  • Schedules interviews and coordinates interviewers or panels. Tests and scores applicants and gathers feedback from other interviewers.
  • Informs candidates of job duties, responsibilities, work schedules, compensation and benefits packages, and career advancement opportunities.
  • Extends verbal & written employment offers to selected candidates while providing the appropriate notification to the remaining candidates.
  • Coordinates new hire orientation, onboarding and training activities with floor trainers.
  • Actively monitors training results, addresses employee and management concerns and works with operations management to modify training programs as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, and/or related experience required.
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources and SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies, procedures, and governmental regulations preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven record of success with marketing and recruiting, with an emphasis on internet recruiting, in previous assignment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to convey a positive professional image.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with management and associates at all levels.
