Shoe Biz

1978 – Opened the first store in Evansville, Indiana. The concept was totally new – sell shoes at a great price by running deals and promotions over the microphone.

1986 – Fisher-Camuto (Nine West) acquired Shoe Biz, the chain consisted of 4 stores.

The Carnival

1987 – A new store design concept was introduced at the flagship store, and the company was renamed “The Carnival” with 7 stores in the chain.

1988 – Current Chairman J. Wayne Weaver acquired The Carnival from Fisher-Camuto (Nine West) with 21 stores in the chain. 

Shoe Carnival, Inc.

1993 – The company name was changed to Shoe Carnival, Inc. and the company went public (NASDAQ: SCVL) with 39 stores in the chain.

2006 – Upgraded from a warehouse and moved into the state of the art 410,000 square foot Distribution Center. 

2007 – Moved into the 60,000 square foot Corporate Office that houses Accounting, Buying, Digital, Human Resources, Information Systems, Marketing, Merchandising, Real Estate, Store Support, and Training, as well as the Executive Offices.

2011 – Shoe Perks member rewards program began and the E-Commerce platform was launched to take Shoe Carnival sales online.

2014 – Developed our Brand Foundation and launched National Advertising campaign.

2014 – Ship from Store program began, making product even more accessible to the customer.

2015 – Shoes2U program began, allowing customers to order styles and sizes from another store to be shipped directly to their home.

2016 – Shoe Carnival, Inc. reached the first billion dollars in annual sales with 402 stores in the chain.

2018 – Relaunched Shoe Perks rewards program with a new Gold status.
