eCommerce Content Specialist

Immediate opportunity! Join our Shoe Carnival eCommerce team at our South Corporate Headquarters in Fort Mills, SC. This position will report to the corporate office on Monday through Thursday and work remotely on Friday from home.

 

 

Summary:

The eCommerce Content Specialist partners with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal online inventory levels to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) for the online business. This position assigns product categories, writes compelling product descriptions, performs quality assurance reviews, and resolves content issues.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works independently to create and publish compelling, creative, SEO enhanced, and targeted product descriptions.
  • Manages the daily coordination of product samples to prepare all product for sale on eCommerce platforms .
  • Researches product technology, fashion trends, competitor websites, etc. to create accurate product features and specifications (material types, technical specifications, style notes, etc.).
  • Develops product categories to support accurate site navigation, and helps to maintain them in conjunction with the eCommerce On-Site Merchandiser.
  • Performs quality assurance checks for all stock keeping units (skus), including accurate photography, categorization, description, and product name.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with merchandising and vendor partners to resolve asset discrepancies or sample acquisition issues.
  • Partners with the eCommerce Photographer to resolve product photography errors.
  • Acts as the liaison between merchandising and customer service to resolve issues related to the presentation of products online.
  • Utilizes reporting to ensure optimal online inventory levels to drive better online conversion, revenue, and improve overall customer experience.
  • Maintains product knowledge of historical, current, and future merchandise assortments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, maintaining multiple projects on an on-going basis with shifting priorities. Must be able to easily embrace and manage change.
  • Strong follow up and follow through to ensure all tasks are fully completed.
  • Strong creative writing and editing skills, along with strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Database knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an aptitude for critical thinking.
  • A positive attitude and a great sense of humor that relates to our "fun-loving" brand is a plus.
