    This position works out of Shoe Carnival's Corporate Headquarters at 7500 E Columbia Street, Evansville, Indiana Monday through Thursday and can work from home on Friday!

    Starting salary: $42,000. Commensurate with experience.

     

    The HR Generalist supports and advises managers in the Field and at the Corporate Office on HR issues, policies, and procedures.

     

    • Manages and administers all aspects of leaves of absence to include the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), and various state required and company provided leaves.
    • Ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing accommodation recommendations and maintaining appropriate documentation.
    • Manages Workers' Compensation claims by reporting claims, gathering documentation, and coordinating with claims adjustor to ensure legal compliance and claims resolution.
    • Coordinates relocations for transferring associates, including budget maintenance.
    • Assists in advising management in the progressive discipline process to include review of appropriate documentation.
    • Maintains a general knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resource functions, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department.
    • Identifies opportunities and takes initiative to improve processes as needed.
    • Serves as a back-up for the Human Resource Managers and Coordinators.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or at least 3 years of experience in Human Resources and SHRM-CP certification preferred.
    • Knowledge of Human Resource policies, procedures, and governmental regulations preferred.
    • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task.
    • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to convey a positive professional image.
    • Strong analytical/problem solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with management and associates at all levels.
